Morning shift SSC – Tier 1 2015 Test form No: 3149329 Questions and its Answers:

 20. A Word is represented by only one set of numbers as given in any one of the alternatives. The sets of numbers given in the alternatives are represented by two classes of alphabets as in two matrices given below. The columns and rows of Matrix I are numbered from 0 to 4 and that of matrix II are numbered from 5 to 9. A letter from these matrices can be represented first by its row and next by its column, e.g. ‘A’ can be represented by 01, 14 etc. and ‘M’ can be represented by 56,68 etc. Similarly, you have to identify the set for the word ‘Eagle’.

     A) 88,22,31,89,76                               B) 66,43,44,79,88
     C) 99,01,44,96,77                               D) 55,14,11,78,66

     Answer: 99,01,44,96,77
     Logic: A letter can be represented by a set of two numbers from the matrix. For ex. ‘A’ can be represented by 01,14,22,03,43 from the matrix 1. So for the word Eagle, First we have to pick the set which represents all the letters in the word.

                       E = 55,66,77,88,99
                       A = 01,14,22,30,43
                       G = 02,10,23,31,44
                       L = 57,65,78,89,96
                       E = 55,66,77,88,99

          For Ex : If we check with the choice ‘A’ then 88 = E, 22 = A,31 = G,89 = L but 76 is not equal to E so we can ignore the answer A.
           Check the Choice ‘C’ => 99 = E,01 = A,44 = G,96 = L,77 = E, hence the answer is C

    21. If a mirror is placed on the line MN, then which of the answer figures is the right image of the given figure?

    Answer : D
    Logic : If we keep the mirror along MN axis the image will be flipped along Y-axis.
                  Image (A) - Same as original image and no flipping has done
                  Image (B) - Minor changes in the structure of fish.
                  Image (C) - Flipped along X-axis
                  Image (D) - Flipped along Y-axis and seems to the same as original.

   22. Find the number that is common for all of the clue’s given below:
         1) Virgo
         2) Volleyball
         3) A highest score shot of a particular sport

          A) 8                                                    B) 4
          C) 2                                                    D) 6

         Answer : 6
         Logic:  The number which is common for all the clue is 6.
                   Virgo – Sixth Zodiac sign
                   Volleyball – Six players in a team
                   Highest score shot of a particular sport – 6 Runs Cricket

    23. Study the diagram given below and answer the questions:
         The Qualified and experienced doctors working in villages are represented by :

                A) 4                                           B) 5
               C) 2                                           D) 6

           Answer : 5
           Logic:  The number that includes all the shapes is 5.

     24. In a certain coding system APPLE stands for ETTPI. what is the code for DELHI?

            A) CQMND                             B) ZAHDE
            C) HIPLM                                D) CQPLM

           Answer : HIPLM
           Logic : APPLE = ETTPI
                        E is the 5th letter in the alphabet from A, likewise T is the 5th letter from P, L is the  5th letter from L and I is the 5th letter from E.
                       Similarly DELHI = HIPLM
